Happy New Year! I
thought I might show my face round these parts again with a quick recap of
2013 and a few goals for the New Year. I have really high hopes for 2014, and a
good feeling about what the year might bring!
A
couple of snaps from our last getaway in the city. I love Melbourne!

2013
was the year I started this baby of a blog, which I loved and then neglected
when uni and work got cray cray. I’m sorry blog! Honestly after I got out of my
blogging groove I struggled to get back into it, which was probably wise while
I was trying to focus on my exams. In 2013 adventures were had, great food was
eaten, beauty products were discovered, memories were made and not enough photos were
taken. Even though 2013 was an amazing year I want 2014 to be even better.
I’m
not a resolutions hater but I think my version are more like goals and dreams
for the year, which I guess is sort of what a resolution is huh?
1 . Take more photos – The
idea of being able to look back on all the memories of a year has always
appealed to me. To attack this goal head on my boyfriend and I have started a
photo a day notebook (we are using the kikki k 365 journal) and so far so good!
2 . Read more – I love to
read, no surprises there as a lit major, but I fall into the rut of only doing
required reading when I get busy. Not this year!
3 . Get organized – my
bedroom is in the middle of an overhaul and after a day of crazed Manchester
sale shopping last week I think its going to look great plus my makeup storage
is not cutting it right now so it needs a rethink too. When uni starts I’ll be
indulging in some new stationary (my favourite part of going back to school).
Obviously another area of my life that needs organizing is this blog. If I’m
organized enough it will blossom this year! I’m not one for promising a number
of posts a week or month because I like the freedom of writing as much or as
little as I want.
4 . Have experiences and
make memories – although on my day off I’m a sucker for catching up on a
current tv show obsession or watching a movie snuggled up in bed this year I
want to push myself to go places and do things. And when we are doing things
remember my first goal too!
5 . Be happy – my last
super broad goal for the year is to focus on happiness and not just results or
money or other things in life that can get you down. When I’m writing this post
for 2015 I would love to be able to say that 2014 was a really happy year.
Do
you have any goals for 2014? I think it is going to be such a good year!
