Priceline Haul #1

My beauty buying has reached new heights in the past few weeks and after a serious chat with myself I decided I should try and enforce a spending ban. But since I have a problem, and my boyfriend is an enabler, a few days ago I went into my local Priceline (where they ought to know my name I am there so often) and I ended up picking up some new products to play with.

L-R: Australis Paparazzi Perfect High Definition Blush in Screen Siren, Australis Lip Treatment Trio, Essence All about matt! Powder

Recently I have wanted to try out some brands that I have never used before, particularly Australian brands. I have noticed that Australis have really upped their game in that past year or two. I love their rebranded style and they have a lot of products you would expect from a makeup artist brand like Bobbi Brown. Introducing products that aren’t often seen in ‘Drug store /Highstreet /Chemist /Priceline’ stores is really clever and had me rifling through and swatching everything in sight. I am a sucker for a free offer and when I was in store Priceline had a deal running where you received a free Lip Treatment Trio (more on this product another day) when you spent over $15. I restrained myself and happily decided on the Paparazzi Perfect High Definition Blush in Screen Siren $12.95 and the Pout Paste in Pash Me Pink $12.95. The formula of the Pout Paste reminds me of the Rimmel Apocalips but I’m yet to swatch them side by side. I have already used the blush and I can already see this becoming a holy grail item! It looked a little dark in the pan for my fair skin when I got it home but it applied perfectly and defines without being too much on the cheeks, just a peachy flush.

L-R: Essence Lash Brow Gel Mascara, Australis Pout Paste in Pash Me Pink, Essence Colour and Go polish in 125
My next discovery was from a German brand; Essence, and it is another brand that I have always shied away from. Now I have really looked at their products I’m not sure why! I think I was a bit too wary of ‘getting what I paid for’ and wondered if there was a reason for everything being so cheap.  I picked up the Lash and Brow gel mascara, $3.50 which kept my brows in place all day long yesterday. I also got the All about Matt! fixing compact powder $5.35, which sets my makeup without being cakey and lastly I had to get a nail polish! Unfortunately I don’t think this one has a name but it is number 125 of the Colour and Go formula $2.75. The soft blue shade with lilac undertones reminded me a little of Essie Bikini so teeny. I will definitely be returning to Essence to see what else the brand has to offer.

I am really happy with my Priceline purchases and was extremely satisfied of the quality of the products I got for the price.  Spending ban starts….. now!

June Beauty Favourites

For me this month has flown by, I couldn’t believe it when I wrote the date today, its July tomorrow! So I thought at the last minute I would briefly talk about a few of the beauty bits and pieces I have been using and loving in the month of June.

L-R: Revlon Photoready Blush, Bobbi Brown Corrector, Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation, Sally Hansen Salon Manicure, Blistex Intensive Repair

Same order as above. (excuse grubby finger marks!)

Blistex Intensive Repair
This is my holy grail lip balm. I love it and I desperately need another one. Now its winter my lips are super dry and I use it everyday and every night before bed. I wish that it came in a stick form though because it’s a pain to use a tub when you have longer nails.  But I love this product so much it doesn’t matter. It just works and does the job.

Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation in 010 Light Porcelain
I usually don’t wear foundation everyday, but since buying this one when it was on sale at the start of the month I have been wearing it more and more. Usually Rimmel’s foundations are far too dark for me but this shade is perfect. It is a perfect mix of being matte but not flat and dewy but not shiny. The SPF is a plus but not enough if that is your only form of sun protection. If you are fair skinned and on a budget I would definitely recommend this foundation.

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in 627 Jaded
I really like this Salon Pro formula; it wears really well, rarely chips and has a super wide brush. It might not be to everyone tastes but I love using it. This shade is my favourite colour of the moment and will have a post dedicated to it soon.

Revlon Photoready Crème Blush in Pinched
Wearing blush does not come naturally to me, but this winter I have really noticed that the apricot flush this blush gives makes me look so much more alive on a cold morning! This shade is my favourite because it suits my skin tone and it is hard to go overboard with. This formula is crème to powder and blends really nicely, as long as you work quickly!

Bobbi Brown Corrector in Porcelain Bisque
At the best of times I have pretty bad dark circles under my eyes, but this month has been the exam period and I really needed this stuff! I use this product everyday so I look less like I’ve been punched in the face when I go out in the morning.

Just a quick round up of my favourite beauty bits for June.
